Jorge Colon of Letca Films: With the new Sabritas spot the brand reaffirms its faith in big productions

Jorge Colon, president and founder of Letca Films, recently announced a new production for Pepsico’s Sabritas, in which he takes part once more as director. It’s a very hot spot featuring William Levy, accompanied this time by another celebrity, show host Vanessa Huppenkothen.The commercial was filmed in Rio de Janeiro last December, when it was summer down south in Rio de Janeiro and with all the World Cup preparations underway. Circumstances stretched the shoot to three weeks. One of the challenges for Colon’s team was preparing the talent to execute correctly the dancing of Levy and Huppenkothen.“Since it required choreography we began rehearsals with plenty of time, but it turned out that William had experience in Dancing with the Stars, which helped us a lot – he even gave us tips for the dance,” Colon told PRODU.With the long relationship between Pepsico and Letca, Colon expressed his satisfaction at receiving the client’s trust in every production. “Sabritas takes more and more risks, counting on big, well made productions, and thank God this commercial has been as big a success as the previous ones,” Colon said.The spot entitled Baile is part of the launch campaign for the new Sabritas Habanero potato chips. The agency of record is BBDO and the launch strategy is complemented by the use of social networks, outdoor and public transport, as well as alternative media at points of sale.
