One of the things the actor Humberto Zurita likes the most about playing the part of Centauro in Sony-Teleset’s La Querida del Centauro aired on Telemundo, is that it breaks the stereotype of the bad guy in the melodrama.

“This story is told in a different way, it is no longer a narco-novela. It is a series that plays with many genres, that gives us the opportunity to make our characters more and more complex and not just stay with the same stereotypes. These hybrids between series and telenovela are becoming a new proposal of Telemundo and Teleset in the aim to do something innovative in TV that no longer has to do with narco-series,” expressed Zurita.

He stated that in the new season his character isn´t as focused on drug dealing but on being a strategist, instead. “It is like a chess player that comes to design a plan to manipulate Yolanda´s (Ludwika Paleta) brain”.

For his part, Michel Brown, actor that plays Gerardo and who will soon be in the fourth season of HBO LatAm´s Sr. Ávila, stated that the series is a psychological thriller in which the main character is no longer drug dealing. Now, the focus is on the psyche of each one of the characters and their conflicts.

“Sony-Teleset do things very well. Their shooting plans are half of the work a normal production company does, because each is done very carefully, that is reflected in the final product. I think that is where the future of TV lies,” he expressed.

He stated that he likes all content genres. “I am not afraid of melodrama, what we all hate is a badly made melodrama, with few resources. I actually think it is genre that has great possibilities, and it is very nice, in fact, rock and roll bands pay a tribute to love. The issue is how the threads are woven. If I come across a good project that has to do with melodrama, I am glad to jump into it,” ended Brown.
