During the ceremony, Daisy Expósito-Ulla, Chairman & CEO of d expósito & Partners, had the distinct honor of inducting Ms. Bird, delivering a moving and insightful speech that highlighted her remarkable career and lasting impact on the Hispanic marketing industry.

Daisy’s heartfelt tribute recounted her first with Jackie Bird in Puerto Rico at an AHA (Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies) conference, describing her immediate impression of Bird’s “intellectual curiosity, empathy, charisma, sincerity, and self-assurance.” Expósito shared anecdotes that painted a vivid picture of their burgeoning friendship, solidified during an AHA board retreat in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

“From that time in Mexico, we forged a bond of mutual trust that would later evidence itself in our business relationship,” Expósito shared with the audience. She lauded Bird’s adventurous spirit and creative mind, evident in the name of her consulting firm, The Red Bean Society in Spanish, La Sociedad de la Habichuela Colorada.

Expósito further highlighted Bird’s significant professional achievements, including her leadership roles at West Indies Advertising, Gray Advertising, and as President and CEO of Wing Latino. She emphasized Bird’s visionary approach and her instrumental role in the successful launch of the Mexican seasoning Tajín in the United States.

“Among the many achievements of Jackie Bird’s splendid career, having succeeded in this ambitious goal was one of her biggest successes. It is no less than a triumph of cultural dexterity, cross-culturalism, all while staying true to the brand ethos,” Daisy affirmed.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Expósito spoke of Jackie Bird as “an inspirational leader and a mentor who opened doors for women and new generations of advertising professionals.” She also acknowledged Bird’s deep passion for the Latino community and her proud Puerto Rican heritage.

In a poignant moment, Daisy accepted the Hall of Fame recognition on behalf of Jackie Bird’s husband, Robert, her brother, family, and numerous friends and colleagues whose lives she touched.

“For your merits, Jackie, and for the beautiful example you set, HMC joyfully celebrates you today and welcomes you proudly as a new member of HMC Hall of Fame. Gracias, Jackie. Thank you, Agent 3. Thank you.” concluded Daisy.
