According to new information from a studio conducted by Roku and The Harris Poll with 2 thousand adult participants in the US during the Covid-19 period, 85% of the survey respondents do video streaming and prefer OTT over pay-TV.

Additionally, the average hours of streaming reported increased by 19% year after year, whereas visualization of traditional TV decreased by 13%, according to what they revealed.

The results show that 2020 was truly the decade of the start of streaming in the US, “with more than eight out of every ten US citizens reporting that they are streamers. It is no surprise that 96% of millennials, as well as 72% of baby boomers, qualified themselves as streamers”.

“We have reached a top point for the future of television as we know it, in which a future that involves 50% or less of homes that subscribe to traditional pay-TV is now realistic in the short term,” explained Abbey Lunney, Director Trends and Thought Leadership in The Harris Poll.
