Alejandro Quintero former Commercialization VP at Televisa and CEO of Grupo TVP, makes a sharp analysis of the moment the TV business is going through, comparing it to the radical transformation that occurred when Gutenberg invented the print. In an exclusive interview with PRODU in his office in Mexico City, which we will deliver in three parts, due to the varied and polemic topics he covered, he expressed that Netflix had entered through the back door and now people can see contents without the 30 second spot. “We are all trying to understand things that didn’t use to exist, because suddenly Netflix entered through the back door and in came streamings and now you can see programming on streaming without seeing a single spot in a long while. The big question we must all ask ourselves is how are we going to do for brands to be able to upload contents if in traditional media we no longer have the 30 second spot because in streaming -which is growing increasingly- where do you place that spot?”, he said. During the 17 years he was in Televisa, he continued operating the family business his father founded 35 years ago, TV Promo, which he has reformulated, calling it Grupo TVP, broadening its action to communication strategy, media and marketing purchase strategy, and that it will be relaunched precisely to answer questions and market media in the digital age.“There is no longer purchase nor traditional use of media”, he added.
