Atresmedia: Series probably now have more relevance than films

Atres Series, Atresmedia series channel that currently has 4.5 million subscribers in Hispanic America was the Hispanic-American screen to launch several series this year: Algo que Celebrar (9×60´) in March, Bajo Sospecha (8×60´) in May, Sin Identidad (9×60´) in July and Vis a Vis (11×60´) last September 2nd. Also, on October 1st they will launch Allí Abajo (13×60´), which in Spain became the best comedy launching in the last 10 years, with more than 6.3 million TV viewers.”These series were launched on Atres Series before any other screen in America”, stated Mar Martínez, International director of Atresmedia. The executive claimed that Atres Series is a channel that grows day to day and expressed that currently “series are much more relevant, maybe more than films”.On the other hand, she reported that Antena 3 Internacional (16,5 million subscribers) will start to broadcast on HD before the end of this year. That way, all three channels distributed by Atresmedia (Antena 3 Internacional, ¡HOLA! TV and Atres Series) will be airing in high definition.Lastly, regarding Latin America, the executive commented: “It is always a changing, strategic and growing market”.
