Unefon, Nextel and Iusacell will operate as a single company as part of the aggressive strategy that AT&T wants to implement in Mexico. Additionally, one of the advantages that the users of these companies will have is that in the US, they will be able to use AT&T’s network, under the same data and minutes package that they have in Mexico, said Cristina Ruiz, External Affairs executive director at AT&T. “We come with a very aggressive strategy, both in the prepaid as well as in the credit market. One of the advantages that users of Unefon, Nextel or Iusacell will have is that they will be able to use the AT&T network in the US -the one with the highest speed- with the same data and minutes package they hired in Mexico, which means they will have no extra charges for the use of data abroad”, said the executive in an interview with the Grupo Radio Fórmula. The executive announced that the company is betting on forming a regional network in North America capable of reaching a market of 400 million users and that next week they will reveal the strategy the company will implement in Mexico. “AT&T´s long-term project is to make a single project in North America, with which they will combine a market of 400 million users with the same service and the same quality in Mexico as the one in the American union. The benefits for national clients will be to be part of a network, with prices that will depend on the services users hire”, she pointed out.
