On May 2nd in Mexico City, Azteca 7 introduced the 18 contestants for the second season of the reality show La Isla, which will premiere in September with new locations in the Dominican Republic. Rodrigo Fernández, director of Azteca 7, said this kind of project is geared towards “people who don’t watch novelas; those who enjoy reality shows that offer high production value and have people talking about it all over the country. We’re proud to have it again on our air because it’s the biggest new venture for Azteca 7 and one of the most important for the network.” The executive said La Isla is a profitable show, not just for consumers, but also for advertisers, experiencing a growth of 250% versus to last year. “Advertisers are seeking these concepts where they can integrate their brands organically. This project sold well. We have six more sponsors than last season,” he said. Finally, Fernández said the show would have a presence on the different digital platforms, with ancillary content, and a strong participation on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. La Isla will have 64 episodes and will feature six unknown participants and 12 celebrities: Ceci Ponce, Michelle Vieth, Geraldine Bazán, Matías Novoa, Alan, Alberto Guerra, Martiere Alessandri, Tania Rincón, Vanessa Zambotti, Francisco de la O, Shocker, Bad Boy Rosas, Ricardo Alcalá, Juan Carlos Somoza, Carlos Pulido, Karen González, Cristina Rangel and Ana Ransanz.
