Banijay Mexico & US Hispanic and Mexican comedian Ricardo O’Farrill will develop unscripted comedy

Banijay Mexico & US Hispanic and Mexican comedian and writer Ricardo O’Farrill (Last One Laughing Mexico) will be producing a new unscripted comedy.

The new untitled series follows a team of comedians, led by O’Farrill, as they attempt to solve everyday problems in a unique way. “They are a team disaster. And within this disastrous process in which they try to solve things, social issues such as homophobia, the lack of blood donation, and bot farms to manipulate opinions are addressed. “The idea is to have a program in which you laugh a lot, but in the end, it leaves the audience with a certain social conscience, which is quite necessary these days,” explained O’Farrill.

The team of comedians that follow O’Farrill in the series includes Isabel Fernández, Karla Camacho, and 23-year-old emerging star Josuesy. The show uses hidden cameras, with interviews and pranks on the street as a reality show, while the comedians perform following a script.

“We believe that this is a series that has the potential to become a successful format that can be produced locally in each territory,” said Marie Leguizamo, CEO of Banijay Mexico & US Hispanic.

O’Farrill is an actor, writer, and one of the most recognized stand-up comedians in the Mexican market. He is the first comedian from Latin America with two comedy specials on Netflix (Abrazo genial and Abrazo navideño). He participated in the successful Amazon Prime LOL and currently has two series on YouTube, Nam Nam Extravaganza and Neurosis y Ánimo.

Fernández is a screenwriter, actress, and comedian. She participated in the fourth season of Amazon Prime’s LOL Mexico; she currently produces and hosts the YouTube series Cuando Nadie me ve and she co-hosts Por el placer alongside Fran Hevia.

Camacho is a comedian, screenwriter, and actress. She also performed in the fourth season of LOL México; currently, she has a national comedy tour in Mexico, Siempre Traviesa, and is a co-host of the YouTube series Deberías de Pedirlo.

Josuesy is a 23-year-old Mexican comedian and popular YouTube star.
