Production house Boomdog Films, founded by Venezuelans Alejandro Rincón and Carlos Perna, opened in Mexico in 2007 to produce the late show Ya Es ½ Noche En China for Sony Entertainment channel. Boomdog is currently producing four shows, including the original project El Incorrecto, and plans to start producing fiction. In an interview with PRODU, Rincón and Perna expressed their interest in original production, without overlooking the projects commissioned by their clients. “El Incorrecto is our first original project and it’s doing very well. It’s has excellent ratings on the networks that carry it, which include E! Entertainment, Cadenatres, Telemundo, UnoTV, Clarovideo and América Móvil. Now we also want to get into fiction and we’re already planning and developing projects,” said Rincón. Perna said another objective for the company is for networks to see the benefit of shooting in Mexico versions of their shows for Latin America: “Instead of shooting abroad, we’re focusing on producing in Mexico for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic Market. This country has the resources necessary to create successful products,” he added. Boomdog Films is an independent production house dedicated to the development and production of television content for Mexico, Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. The company currently produces for E! Entertainment the shows El Incorrecto, Fashion Police México, La Sopa and E! POP. Boomdog is also working on the production of Xtreme Makeover Home Edition, Todo o Nada and Impractical Jokers.
