Carlos Sánchez joins FOX Deportes as EVP and general manager

FOX Deportes announced that Carlos Sánchez will join the company as EVP and general manager. Sánchez will report to Jeff Krolik, president, FOX Sports Regional Networks.“Carlos is a talented executive with an impressive track record,” said Krolik. “We look forward to his leading FOX Deportes and solidifying the network as the leader in Spanish-language sports television.””I’m excited to contribute to the growth of the company in the Hispanic market and help maintain its position as the leader in the industry,” said Sánchez.Sánchez joins FOX Deportes from Telemundo WNJU-TV in New York, where he served as president and general manager, leading the station to multiple New York Emmy Awards, including best Evening Newscast in 2012. In addition, Sánchez oversaw a major overhaul of the station’s content and technology, which included launching new weekend and morning newscasts and upgrading its facilities into a state-of-the-art studio, set, and control room.Prior to his role with Telemundo in New York, Sánchez was VP and general manager of Telemundo stations in Las Vegas and Denver from 2005-2008. During his tenure, he oversaw the acquisition and integration of the Las Vegas station into the NBC Universal owned-and-operated stations group.
