The CBS News app featuring CBSN, the 24/7 free live streaming news service, has now expanded distribution in regional app stores in 89 countries outside of the U.S., including on Amazon Fire TV, Android, Android TV, Chromecast, and Chromecast built-in devices, LG Smart TVs, and more, as well as VIZIO SmartCast in the U.S. and Canada.

Now, viewers in countries including Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, South Korea, the United Kingdom and more have the option of watching CBSN from the CBS News app, on platforms and streaming devices where it is available regionally, in addition to streaming from the web on desktop and mobile devices. This expansion gives the global audience even more access to trusted reporting on international and U.S. news, including the latest information on protests taking place across the country and the world, the COVID-19 pandemic, and non-partisan coverage of the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

“Our research shows that there is global demand for CBS News’ reporting on issues and events that impact everyone,” said Christy Tanner, EVP & general manager, CBS News Digital. “With CBSN’s expanded availability in international app stores, we can now deliver vital, in-depth coverage on urgent and pivotal news events to more viewers in more places.”

CBSN, which has already been available for free on web browsers globally, will continue to expand availability as the CBS News app launches in additional international app stores in the months to come, meeting international consumer demand for trusted information on the 2020 presidential election and issues impacting global populations.
