This week, CentroAméricaTV is celebrating 15 years on air as the leading network for the six million Central Americans living in the United States. Launched in 2004, CentroAméricaTV has worked to maintain the U.S. Central American community’s connection to their unique customs, cultures, and traditions, with original programming from El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Panama.

The channel’s milestone year will be marked by their participation in the 36th annual Central American Confederation (COFECA) Parade with special coverage of the event airing on Sunday, September 15th, at 8pm ET /5pm PT.

Since its inception, CentroAméricaTV has provided country-specific news and entertainment programming that highlights the towns, cities, beaches, religious festivals and traditions representative of each Central American community. Soccer, a key rating driver for the channel, has also been a central focus of CentroAméricaTV’s programming strategy, with the network transmitting World Cup qualifying games and serving as the exclusive home of the national soccer leagues of El Salvador, Honduras, and Costa Rica.

In its effort to continue offering relevant, quality programming to its target audience, CentroAméricaTV expanded its offering last year with the creation of Inmigrantes, an exclusive original program produced specifically for U.S.-based Central Americans. The program provides viewers with critical information on current immigration issues and challenges and features advice from a well-known immigration lawyer, Meredith Brown.

“For the last 15 years, CentroAméricaTV has been the place where the U.S. based Central Americans have found content that entertains, informs and inspires them, and we look forward to continuing to serve them for years to come,” said Francisco Giménez, SVP and general manager of Cable Channels for Hemisphere Media Group, Inc., the network’s parent company.
