Cisneros Media: We added several representations to our catalogue, including Zee Entertainment from India and the films from the Barreto family from Brazil

For Cisneros Media Distribution LA Screenings was a very productive event, both because of the signing of new representation agreements as well as sales that were achieved. Among the new representations added to their catalogue, Marcello Coltro, executive Content Distribution VP at Cisneros Media, mentioned to PRODU the Indian company Zee Entertainment Enterprises that has the lifestyle channel Zee TV in the US. “There is a great deal of hours of series and telenovelas from India, which is a strong country and I think it will be the next great success in terms of formats in the region, they way the Turkish and Korean have been”. Another important representation is Medialand from Brazil, with a catalogue of more than 600 hours of TV and film programming, with global rights for open TV, pay TV, VOD and film. Another agreement is with the Barreto family in Brazil, considered the royalty of Brazilian film for the global representation of their prestigious film catalogue (Doña Flor y sus Dos Maridos and Lula, Son of Brazil, among others). Regarding sales, Coltro said that the original production El Sexo Sentido, awoke great interest of premium channels to enter as co-producers, as well as some digital platforms. He mentioned that from the Estrella TV catalogue, they now have Premios de la Radio and are looking for co-producers to make in Miami the version of Rica Famosa Latina.
