The Miami market is part of the immediate expansion plans for the syndicated programming block of CNN Latino in the U.S. “Miami is a required market for many reasons: the number of Hispanics in this city and their buying power. Just like Elizabeth Espinosa with Sin Límites, which is produced in Los Angeles for the West coast, the show will have a version produced in Miami, featuring issues and discussions relevant to the East coast, because we understand there is a difference between these two markets,” said to PRODU Eduardo Suárez, VP of Programming and Production of CNN en Español.Another market that will soon be added is Phoenix, with Channel 44. Suárez says that, as part on the launch of CNN Latino, the company has added resources to the Miami, Los Angeles and Mexico bureaus, and also expanded the operation in Atlanta. “CNN en Español is a business unit: we handle radio, Internet, two TV channels, the web, social media. Multimedia is the way communications will survive,” he added. Suárez said that for the first time, CNN en Español and its new free-TV block, CNN Latino, will be attending the upcoming Annual Assembly of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA), to be held in Miami later this month. “It will be an opportunity to introduce the network and CNN Latino. Attendants will have a chance to get know more about these two products,” he added.
