On the occasion of the 2016 Rio Olympics, aired in US Hispanic on Telemundo and NBC Universo, Comcast presented the functions its X1 platform offers, to filter content according to user’s preferences.”We are very proud of our product for the Olympic Games that has been thought for the multicultural family. It is a platform that, within X1, will enable the experience of the Olympic Games. It will be possible to choose the Spanish-speaking countries you want to follow, also your favorite sports and even athletes. It is very personalizable, but is also designed for Latino families, because you can navigate from Spanish to English,” expressed Javier García, senior VP and general manager of Multicultural Services at Comcast. He added that the platform allows filtering according to preferences throughout the 6 thousand hours of Olympic content that will be produced, which would otherwise take one year for a person to watch. García mentioned that every six weeks the company is launching a new product for the X1. “We are going to continue innovating in the topic of personalization. This technology was not designed exclusively for the Olympics but is technology at the core of what X1 is,” he ended.
