Comcast included the children’s channel, Kids Street, owned by Latinos and distributed by Condista in the US, to its digital package of largest reach -the Digital Starter Package- in HD, thus doubling the signal’s current distribution.

The signal now reaches more than 15 million homes within the US, said Burke Berendes, a partner at Condista. In addition to Comcast, Kids Street is available on Spectrum, Optimum, Evoca, Vidgo (vMVPD or Virtual Multichannel Video Programming Distributor), Suddenlink and Fidelity.

“This is a historic moment for us. Despite the headwinds, it’s wonderful to see the affiliate support for an emerging channel like Kids Street. We hope to see similar progress with our paid TV operators. We are very grateful to Comcast for the support,” Berendes emphasized.

This increase in distribution also concurs with the launch of seven new acquired shows (Chocolix, The Fox Badger Family, Yakari, Helen’s Little School, Polly Pocket, Rainbow Ruby and Strawberry Shortcake: In the Big City), some premiering exclusively on linear TV, and the refreshing of the channel image.

“We want Kids Street to remain as a pay TV service. We are on OTT with Vidgo, which is a paid platform, and we are definitely looking for this type of opportunity as well,” Berendes said.

The FAST space is something that interests them, and where Condista already has four channels (Mega Noticias, RCN Extra, RCN Más and Fuel). They announced that in June they will be revealing new offers within the area of FAST channels. “This business is doing better than expected. We just began in the third quarter of last year. You will see us coming out with more FAST channels in the near future,” he stated.
