Cristina Schwarz promoted to VP of Univision Cable Networks

Schwarz was previously the VP of Programming and Production for Univision Cable Networks

Cristina Schwarz will take on the role of VP of Univision Cable Networks. Schwarz will remain based in Miami and will report to César Conde, president of Univision Networks. In this role, the executive will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for Univision’s suite of Spanish-language entertainment and news cable offerings – Galavisión, tlnovelas, De Película, De Película Clásico, Bandamax, Ritmoson, Telehit, Distrito Comedia and ForoTV. Schwarz was previously the VP of Programming and Production for Univision Cable Networks. Before Univision, she operated her own company, CSLR, Ltd., a consultancy for international media companies. She also previously served as VP and general manager for three New York television stations within the Univision Television Group; led sales teams for Univision and Telemundo networks; and worked in advertising for the Bravo Group and Caballero Spanish Radio Network.Gerardo López Gallo will take the role of VP of Programming for the Galavisión Network. López will oversee operations and programming for Galavisión. In his more than 12 years at Univision, he has served as VP of Ad Sales Marketing and most recently served as VP of Cable Networks. López will remain based in Miami and report directly to Alberto Ciurana, president of Programming and Content. López will also partner with Cristina Schwarz in her new role as vice president of Univision Cable Networks to ensure the success of Univision’s entire Spanish-language cable portfolio.
