During the round table titled “The Importance of News Content for Hispanic Viewers,” Cynthia Hudson, SVP and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategies of CNN/US, said that in today’s media environment, anyone with a Smartphone is a potential creator of content.“Having a headline is not enough. As news leaders we have the responsibility to offer depth, and this is a challenge in the current environment,” said Hudson. She was joined by Keith Clinkscales, CEO of REVOLT Media & TV; Beau Ferrari, EVP of Operations of Univision; and Juan Manuel Benítez, political correspondent for NY1 Noticias. The discussion was part of the agenda of the 11th Annual Hispanic TV Summit.The panel also discussed the importance of veracity over quickness. “It’s important to be accurate and be first; it’s a delicate dance. At the end of the day, what we sell as news medium is credibility,” said Hudson.
