Danilo Reynoso of POP Entertainment presented the film O+ a co-production between the DR, Mexico and Argentina

Danilo Reynoso, CEO of POP Entertainment, a Dominican film and TV production house, attended Iberseries to do a double pitch for the film O+ before the distribution companies Under The Milky Way and Sony Pictures International.

“Among more than a thousand or so projects that participated, only 28 films were chosen and of those, only two achieved the double pitch, one was O+, which is our most recent production, a joint project with Argentina and Mexico,” said Reynoso.

Reynoso commented that POP Entertainment has devoted itself to cinema and co-productions. At the moment they have 10 completed projects, of which eight are fiction and two are documentaries.

He indicated that in addition to the O+ pitch, they presented other projects they are developing.

O+ is about successful Dominican immigrants who, in the early 1990s, moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina and ended up infected with a virus unknown at the time, HIV. “It tells the story of discrimination and the characters’ experiences when they learned that having a positive diagnosis was a death sentence. It narrates how these characters restore their professional and love lives when they return to the Dominican Republic”, he said.

Reynoso also mentioned that POP Entertainment has three Colombian co-production projects –Guayabo, Esa noche and Cucú– that are being distributed by Gustavo Aparicio’s Spanglish Movies.
