“The multifaceted nature of TV today is the result of the rapid evolution of technology,” assured Vanessa Rosas, Head of blim TV, on the Guía OTT & VOD de PRODU (PRODU OTT & VOD GUIDE).

In her opinion, this does not mean that the Internet or digital are “winning” TV, but that now, it is present on multiple devices, allowing consumer habits to evolve, and at the same time, influencing the current business models and offers, ultimately benefiting audiences, by generating more and better content.

“There is no doubt that demand for content has grown enormously after the launch of streaming platforms because now, they give users the opportunity to watch content on-demand, when they want and on the device of their preference. The audience changed and our lives did, too. That is why we needed a TV to adapt”.

Likewise, he added that content production companies quintessentially, worldwide, have focused on launching and strengthening their digital platforms, as well as on new exhibition and monetization windows; many times focusing on very specific targets. “In this sense, niche platforms are positioning themselves strongly, because they offer very specific contents with which those audiences connect and adopt them in a much more intimate way than in the case of other platforms with offers of diverse nature”.
