Diego Musiak de Spanglish Movies Mip Cancún

Diego Musiak, director of Original Content at Spanglish Movies, is doing very well at his second MIP Cancun.

“It has been great for us. We closed a couple of agreements, both film and series, and we have two options: a non-scripted one that we didn’t think of, because it’s for Brazil and for the United Kingdom. We were looking for the Latin American leg and, since our forte is the US Hispanic market, Brazil itself is on another continent. We all know that they are part of the Americas, but it is the sixth continent and reaching an intellectual property and license agreement with Brazil, I found it amazing. Same with the UK. I didn’t expect it,” Musiak said.

He pointed out that this edition of MIP Cancun had “great attendance and expectations.” For him it was very positive “to be able to share what the next five to 10 years will be like.”

Regarding trends, he indicated that the content is “an inherent need of the human being, regardless of the window and the format, as long as the content is authentic and provides human content, it will continue to be valid and a need. Now, how is it monetized? that is the challenge we have to undertake to continue telling good stories,” he said.

He mentioned that Spanglish has already opened a couple of FAST channels and is already working on the metaverse, social media and advertainment content. “Communication works. I believe that we must collaborate with the centennials so that they make this a better world,” he concluded.
