As part of the initiative the channel will premiere Tengo cáncer

During this year’s October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Discovery Familia will join in the fight against breast cancer with an on air campaign that includes special programming and a series of PSAs specifically created to call on Hispanic women to become informed and take preventative measures. As part of this initiative, Discovery Familia will premiere Tengo cáncer, an autobiographical documentary, on Saturday, October 29th at 9pm during its Sábados Médicos programming block. This coproduction, between Discovery Familia and Imagina US, follows the real life story of Patricia San Pedro, a successful executive with a thriving career whose life was turned upside down after being diagnosed with breast cancer, a fate her mother suffered 20 years prior. During this month, the network is also collaborating with Latinas Contra Cáncer, a nonprofit organization that provides information and support to women in the Hispanic community. Starting on October 15th, Discovery Familia will air a series of PSAs featuring Hispanic women’s moving testimonials about their experiences with breast cancer.
