ESPN Deportes celebrates its 15th Anniversary

ESPN Deportes will celebrate its 15th anniversary on Monday, January 7, 2019, LIVE from Wynwood Yard in Miami’s popular art district with a special show hosted by ESPN Deportes’ commentators Pilar Pérez and Sebastián Martínez Christensen.

Throughout the day, ESPN Deportes will feature live reports from Miami across all its news and information shows. The celebration will culminate with a 30-minute preview of the NCAA Bowl Championship between two of the top four NCAA teams, Clemson and Alabama, at 7:30pm ET.

As part of the activities for fans in Wynwood, ESPN Deportes commissioned Miami-based art agency, Cushy Gigs to paint a live mural commemorating the 15th anniversary.

“From its inception and over the course of 15 years, ESPN Deportes has been devoted to serving U.S. Hispanic sports fans by bringing exceptional programming, passion, and excitement into their homes. We look forward to highlighting our growth and evolution throughout the years, and continue the expansion of our brand across all platforms, it’s initiatives and content which caters to the ever-changing multicultural fan in the U.S.,” said Freddy Rolón, VP and general manager, ESPN Deportes.

ESPN Deportes also will air over 50 vignettes showcasing ESPN Deportes’ commentators sharing their most memorable moments and experiences.

A three-minute segment on the first SportsCenter edition for ESPN Deportes will air in the 11pm edition of the show featuring interviews with the original anchors.
