Euronews attended Andina Link 2023 with the main objective of finding partners such as cable operators or OTT platforms to continue growing in this important region. “Compared to other countries such as Mexico or Argentina, in Colombia and the Andean countries we still have room to grow and promote more our channel,” said Sarah Mimouni, Director of Distribution and Out of Home for Latin America, Euronews.

As part of its strategy, specifically for Colombia, Euronews has added new partners. “This year we began with MBA Networks, which is going to help us to share the channel mainly with the big operators,” she said while making it clear that they want to reach the entire territory: “It is important to us not only to be in the big cities but also in rural areas of Latin America.”

One way they have found to reach more and more viewers is through the syndication of their content. “We can provide our programs, for example, on culture, science, or music, and our informative bulletins or newscasts to national channels. We seek to strengthen our presence here and in the rest of Latin America through this collaboration,” explained Mimouni.

Euronews has also joined the trend of FAST channels, models that they already have in Europe and replicated in different countries in America. “We are very flexible with business models because we always try to find a way to work with our partners. In Latin America and the US we work like this with VIX+, SamsungTv+ in Mexico and Brazil, also with Pluto TV in Latin America, and a few months ago we launched Roku in Mexico. There is a lot of demand for this offer and we want to expand this model with other platforms.”

Mimouni highlighted that universities and colleges in the region can be their partners through Euronews campus, a way through which the network’s contents become educational support for students from various areas. “We have content in more than ten languages that can help strengthen students’ knowledge and also make us known at more levels.”
