Fidela Navarro of Azteca: I now have the opportunity to manage the pay-TV area of Azteca

Fidela Navarro, director of Pay-TV of Azteca, met with PRODU at the 2013 Tepal Expo, which took place at the Westin Playa Bonita hotel in Panama. She spoke about her arrival at Azteca after her stint as director of PCTV Networks, and the challenges of opening this division in a competitive market.“I come from managing PCTV Networks, but Azteca gave me the opportunity of managing the area of pay-TV, focused on improving our products and bringing a new interesting offer to our viewers. I’m analyzing the channels we have in Mexico and elsewhere, and looking at content options for our audience,” said Navarro.Regarding her participation at her first Tepal Expo as director of pay-TV of Azteca, Navarro said it was a good opportunity to explore the terrain the company is officially operating in for the past three months”Trade shows like this provide a good gauge of the issues affecting the pay-TV players. We discuss topics of interest such as TV everywhere or whether programmers will be allies or competitors. It is a great forum to build strategic alliances stay current. I’m happy to be here and share the challenges of the industry, which are common in most of Latin America,” added Navarro.Azteca’s international relations, spearheaded by Navarro’s team, will continue to be supported by Comarex, under the direction of Marcel Vinay.
