Gaumont TV announces launch of a LatAm division managed from Los Angeles

María José Delgado, director of Production for Latin America, Gaumont TV, with offices in Paris, London, Germany, England, Italy, and the US, announced at Iberseries the launch of their new Latin American division that will be under the Los Angeles office (US).

“We will be running LatAm and Spain from Los Angeles. We saw the opportunity to open this division because Gaumont, with its French experience, has a sensitivity very similar to the Latinos in terms of how they tell stories and it also gives us the space to explore how we are doing now”, explained Delgado.

Delgado participated in a conference where she gave three tips on how to sell a project in the US. First, get to know the Development executives well because the selection is made based on taste and other developments so these are aligned with the project that is being promoted. Also vast not only about the project itself but of those to which it is being presented must be shown. Second, the language must be English, “if we want to play by their rules”, and third, “know how to abide by protocols and processes that they meticulously follow, whether they are how to put together a bible, a script, a pitch, the story structure and how to sustain it throughout the production process in order to have a good relationship with them.”
