GolTV, the Miami-based bilingual soccer network, has acquired the broadcast rights to the Portuguese Cup (Taca de Portugal), one of the nations top futbol competitions.The agreement includes all eight rounds and final match of the 2015 tournament, plus the entire spring season in 2016. All games will air exclusively on GolTV and broadcast live in HD.Earlier this year, the network acquired the rights to all home games from Benfica, Portugals top- ranked team and current league champions.The Portugal Cup perfectly complements our regularly scheduled matches from Portugals top-ranked team, Benfica, to further serve passionate Portuguese soccer fans. Securing the rights of the Portuguese Cup is part an ongoing strategy; to offer not only the highest quality, but the greatest diversity of leagues, teams and tournaments to our subscribers and affiliate partners, said Constantino Voulgaris, GolTVs EVP of Programming and Business Development. This is the second European property acquired by GolTV in recent weeks. Earlier this month, the network announced an agreement for broadcast rights to the Scottish Cup.
