Hemisphere Media Group appoints Hispanic television veteran Francisco Giménez as general manager of Cable Networks

Hemisphere Media Group announced the appointment of Francisco Giménez as general manager of Cable Networks. In this newly-formed role, he will be responsible for the cable network operations of Hemisphere’s portfolio, including WAPA América, Cinelatino, Centroamérica TV, Televisión Dominicana and Pasiones. Prior to joining Hemisphere, Giménez served as general manager for Televisión Dominicana and Centroamérica TV for Imagina US, the parent company of the networks’ previous owner, Media World, LLC. “Francisco has extensive experience in TV operations and has been a key player in both the Hispanic and general market television industry for many years. That, paired with the growth and success of Televisión Dominicana and Centroamérica TV during his leadership at Imagina US, makes him the ideal person to lead our networks’ day-to-day operations” said Alan J. Sokol, president and CEO of Hemisphere.“Hemisphere has a world-class portfolio of leading Spanish-language cable networks, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to help strengthen the networks’ performance, focusing on best-in-class programming, improved marketing, and wider distribution in both the U.S. and Latin America” said Giménez. Before working for Imagina US, Giménez served as the director of Marketing and Public Relations for Hallmark Channel, where he was part of the team that launched Hallmark Channel in Latin America.
