HITN's José Luis Rodríguez and Zinkia's José María Castillejo announce Ready To Learn educational partnership

Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network (HITN) and Zinkia Entertainment have announced a Ready To Learn partnership that will use Zinkia’s preschool character Pocoyo as an important element of the English Language Learning part of Project Lamp. HITN will add Zinkia’s Pocoyo to a series of tablet, smartphone and cloud-based programs to help preschool children develop lieracy skills in English. By targeting children whose first language is Spanish, HITN will be reaching undersrved students and in that way sticking to the mission of the US Department of Education’s Ready To Learn program. “We will lead the way in delivering all of the educational benefits that innovations like touch screen devices and interactive learning bring to an audience of children that has unique linguistic strengths and needs” said HITN president and CEO José Luis Rodríguez. “Pocoyo is a perfect fit for our ELL initiative, with tremendous recognition in the Latino community and an ever-expanding fan base among preschoolers.”
