(Maribel Ramos-Weiner). Over the past year the Distribution Department at Imagina US has struck important agreements both for its own signals and those it represents in the U.S. Hispanic market.“We’re very happy that in the past year the Distribution Department of Imagina US has managed to increase penetration of the group’s own channels – Pasiones, Centroamérica TV, TV Dominicana, TeleAmazonas Internacional – and of the channels its represents like TVE, into several of the most important pay-TV distribution systems in the country,” said Antonio Briceño, VP of distribution for Imagina US.One of the latest achievements was with Comcast, the cable operator currently in the process of unifying its lineup across the United States in order to have the same package of Hispanic channels in every city where it is on the air. “Centroamérica TV and Pasiones will be two of the signals included in Comcast’s basic Hispanic package. With that we estimate we’ll have 700,000 new subscribers added to those channels.”Another recent distribution agreement was made with Verizon FiOS TV for Centroamérica TV, Pasiones and TeleAmazonas Internacional. In addition, AT&T U-verse now features all the group’s signals including those it represents such as TVE.In Puerto Rico the group closed a deal with Choice for the distribution of Pasiones. Atlantic Broadband in Miami Beach offers Centroamérica TV, and Cox has TV Dominicana and now Pasiones and Centroamérica TV as well. Time Warner launched Centroamérica TV in its El Paquetazo package.
