Mexicans watch two hours a day of series

Mexicans use an average of two hours a day to watch premiere series in their Netflix, Blim and Claro Video, among other accounts; they watch more than one episode a day and spend at least 199 pesos a month to access these platforms, revealed the Primera Encuesta 2019, Usuarios de Servicios de Telecomunicaciones (First Survey 2019, Users of Telecommunications Services).

The survey, published by the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT), includes an analysis on the use of the video services aired on OTT platforms, that highlights that 33.4% of those interviewed between 25 and 34 years of age use their OTT account between 3 and 5 hours a day; whereas 54.9% use it up to two hours a day.

Users between 35 and 49 years of age with 41.1% and those 50 and older, 45.7%, mainly expressed that they watch more than one episode of a series at least once a week.

40.2% of users mentioned that they watch more than an episode of a series per day. The proportion is greater than the average among users ages 25 to 34, with 52.6%.

10.9% of users 35 to 49 years of age pays more than $400 pesos to watch series and films on Internet platforms. 10.9% of users ages 35 to 49 pay more than $400 pesos to watch series and films on Internet platforms.
