NBC Universo: We want to revolutionize the Hispanic cable

In almost three months since the channel NBC Universo (previous mun2) was launched, its president Rubén Mendiola indicated to PRODU that the response has been positive.”We want to revolutionize Hispanic cable. We are in the midst of an evolution, this is a new channel. We are strengthening our executive level. From February until now we have hired 20 people. Recently, Bilai Joa Silar joined NBC Universo as senior vice president, Programming & Production and we have a new senior vice president for Hispanic Group Advertising Sales, NBC Universo, Chris Czarkowski and also for the great events held jointly by all the NBC Universal Hispanic Group, such as FIFA, the Billboard”, he explained.Mendiola explained that in part, the hirings also obey to the fact that NBC Universo has its headquarters in Miami and much of the staff that came from mun2 in Los Angeles, declined their relocation. He stated that Margie Moreno and Luisa Varona will report to Silar.”A very intense year is coming when we must re-launch and rethink our programming. In the next few months we will have sports complemented with entertainment, suggestive programming with great movies and series”, he indicated. He added that among the new things is the fourth season of Larrymanía, which now has a new producer (no longer Cinemat).
