NBCUniversal launches Universal+ with five premium channels on DIRECTV, DIRECTV Go and Sky México

NBCUniversal International Networks (NBCUIN) launched the Universal+ platform with five premium channels -Universal+ Premiere, Universal+ Cinema, Universal+ Crime, Universal+ Comedy, and Universal+ Reality- which will be on DIRECTV LatAm, DIRECTV Go, and Sky México, starting on December 2.

“We understand that the audience wants to have access to content in different ways, so we launched a service that has premium channels, as well as thousands of hours of on-demand content to stream on multiple platforms. We look forward to extending this new service to our partners in the region, and continuing to support their pay-TV, broadband, and OTT businesses,” said Gus O’Brien, Managing Director of NBCUniversal International Networks Latin America.

Universal+ Premiere: it will be the home of the most successful franchises and exclusive premieres of dramatic series such as Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol, La Brea, Coyote, Evil, Surreal Estate, The Newsreader, Family Law, Cardinal, Monsterland, among others.

Universal+ Cinema will host the Hollywood blockbusters, and the most awarded films of all genres, such as The Grinch, Despicable Me, John Wick, The Invisible Man, Pets 2, the Downton Abbey film, and the Fast and Furious saga.

Universal+ Crime will be dedicated to fans of crime and mystery stories. The channel offers new and unscripted series to Latin America such as In Ice Cold Blood, Deadly Cults, Buried in the Backyard, License to Kill and Super Heists.

Universal+ Comedy will host new and exclusive comedy series like Mr. Mayor, Rutherford Falls, The Unicorn, Upright and franchises including 30 Rock, The Office, The Millers, Man with a Plan, The Odd Couple and The Mindy Project.

Universal+ Reality will showcase the best of entertainment unscripted shows, featuring famous people in lifestyle, travel, and home design shows.
