Producer and director Ben DeJesus, Chief Creative Officer of the NGL Collective, and partner of John Leguizamo in this venture for 13 years, said that the merger with GoDigital’s mitu in August was like a dream come true. “Now we have a lot more resources, an excellent studio of 15,000 square feet. From 25 employees, we now have 120. It has been a very positive time for the company, but the truth is that this is only the beginning. We want to become the largest Latino content company, for the new English-speaking Hispanic generation, who is still very much into their culture.”

DeJesus’ most recent project is the six-episode documentary, Leguizamo Does America, co-produced with NBC News Studios, which will air first on MSNBC News and then on Peacock.

“It celebrates Latino culture, and music that we believe is important and needed to showcase the Latinos’ contributions. We’ve been to New York, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, Chicago, and Miami. This project will premiere in April 2023. We are already editing it,” DeJesus pointed out.

One project recently approved to start production is the three-hour documentary, American History with John Leguizamo for PBS. It’s the story of Latinos from the Aztecs all the way to the Chicanos. “700 years of history,” DeJesus notes. This documentary will air at the end of August 2023 in primetime on all PBS stations in the US.

They are also working on an action comedy that takes place in Miami.

DeJesus added that the company is focusing on long-form and digital content like movies, comedy shows, and documentaries. And that for 2023, NGL has great projects and plans.
