Canal Once and Once Niños launched in Mexico their new digital signal 11.2, with exclusive contents and new productions for the children’s audience, which will be available starting Monday 24th. The programming grid will include the debut of three original productions: Sofía Luna, Agente Especial, Kin and Mi Lugar. In an interview with PRODU, Miguel Alejandro Cruz, executive producer at Once Niños, highlighted that this new signal “reaches TV after a series of regulations, which allowed the opening of digital channels and we took the first step. It is the first channel 100% devoted to children, with programming all day, and it will be available through all the cable systems in the country. There is a balance between acquired and original programs,” he commented.Enriqueta Cabrera, director of Canal Once, highlighted the need to have a programming that was aimed “not only at pursuing fun, but also at building a culture that fosters good relationships and that approaches nature for its contribution to healthy coexistence and for rejecting violence and discrimination”. Finally, Patricia Arriaga, founder of Once Niños and producer of the new series Kin, highlighted the role of public TV in forming Mexicans: “Canal Once can compete with commercial TV and proof of this is the number one position it has among children, many of which are now adults who leave the preference for content TV to their children as a heritage”.
