Bob Bakish, CEO of ViacomCBS, hopes the “super funnel” effect they are presenting with their streaming ecosystem can attract new audiences to their pay services like Showtime in the US and premium, such as Paramount +.

During the streaming event for the investors, the company presented the case of the Pluto TV AVOD, in which they launched Showtime Select with promotional episodes of series from the pay-TV channel Showtime to attract potential subscribers to the signal. “We will launch a Paramount + channel on Pluto TV for the audience to try out the content,” he explained.

In the conference, Bakish commented that Pluto TV is on its way to being a billion-dollar business.

In the US, Paramount + will have two price levels: the premium, US$9.99 to be launched on Thursday, March 4, and the one backed by advertising that will have its debut in June 2021.
