For TV production companies the start of shooting announced three days ago in Mexico City is encouraging, however, it is not feasible with a limit of only ten people on the set.

Juan Maldonado, CEO of Litopos, states that it is not feasible, because a two-camera basic production, with lights, sound, among others, has more than ten people. “However, the most complicated problem is discipline, and how to have a change in attitude for people to comply with the protocols,” he points out.

For his part, Moisés Chiver, production partner from Alazraki Entertainment, states that, although it is very limited for what they are used to, it could result in being more organized, compact and agile when shooting. “I think it is important to find the way to return to the set even with those limitations,” he added.

Regarding the date, he explained that the experts are the ones who must say if it is a good moment or if they should wait a bit more to go out and shoot without having to return to the lockdown a few weeks later. In his case, they don`t have productions pending to start, because the one they still have in their timetable is for November.

Maricarmen Solis, Production Director at Nippur Media in Mexico, highlighted how important it is to have a starting flag. However, in their case, they must continue waiting because “our active projects that suffered a pause are in locations of the Republic, such as Mexicánicos, for example. Therefore, I must abide by the local government of Jalisco for the time being,” he said.
