Rodrigo Fernández, new general manager for Azteca 13 and Azteca 7, announced that channel 7 will produce again original drama and action series following a new format of eight 60-minute episodes to be launched in 2015 in the 10pm timeslot Mondays through Thursdays. Fridays will continue to feature its soccer block, which has been very successful for the channel.“We’ll start with four original series that are being created by the same team of writers of Drenaje Profundo and La Teniente. Two of the series will be completely produced in-house and external production companies are being considered for the other two,” Fernández told PRODU from his Azteca 7 office in Ajusco, prior to his new appointment. He said the series would be programmed one per trimester and be distributed internationally for broadcast, pay-TV and digital. He did not disclose the different themes to avoid tipping off the competition. These miniseries will add three hours of original productions to the Azteca 7 primetime: at 8pm the reality La Isla, at 9pm El Hormiguero, and at 10pm the new original fictions.
