Boris Eserski, president of Telecorporación Salvadoreña (TCS), founding partner of Asder and pioneer of the television industry in El Salvador, has died at the age of 93.

As a business leader, Boris founded various organizations, including ASDER, the Advertising Media Association, AMPS; while AIR (International Association of Broadcasters) named him honorary president.

He was a pioneer in the telecommunications business in El Salvador creating in 1950 YSEB, renamed as La Voz de Latinoamérica in 1954. This radio station was the first to broadcast in El Salvador a radionovela: El Derecho de Nacer (The Right to Be Born).

He was one of the first to found a TV channel: Channel 6 VHF of San Salvador. In 1961 he created the YSR Circuit. On November 30, 1965, Eserski headed the group of businessmen who founded San Salvador’s VHF channel 2, and a year later he signed an agreement to operate channel 4. In 1985, he decided to merge channels 2, 4 and 6 into one consortium to facilitate its administration, which would be called Telecorporación Salvadoreña, TCS, of which he was president.

In 2003, TCS launched the VTV channel (now known as TCS+).
