SOMOS Distribution will attend Content Americas – 24 to 26 January – with an offer that includes a selection of high-profile Turkish dramas, as well as series and comedies.

For SOMOS, the event to be held at the Hilton Miami downtown, turns the city again into a center of activity for the international television market at the beginning of the year, bringing together producers and distributors from all around the world.

SOMOS Distribution brings for the first time in this market the Turkish series Behzat Ç, Hammer & Rose (8×60′). This series, with great responsiveness by the audience, is about a rude, violent, and morally ambiguous police officer, head of the homicide department in Ankara. His team of five: Harun, Hayalet (Ghost), Akbaba (Vulture), Cevdet, Selim and Eda. Behzat Ç and his detectives usually work together with the prosecutor Esra, who later becomes his object of desire.

One of the highlights of the company’s offering is the 202-episode Turkish drama Love for Rent (Kiralik Ask). It’s the story of a waitress, Defne, with money problems, who agrees to try to win the heart of the businessman Ömer, but everything seems to fall apart when her affections are divided between him and his partner Sinan.

The offer also includes the Greek dramas Wild Bees (125×60′) and Sasmos (135×60′).

In addition, the distributor will be offering comedy shows such as the Ecuadorian series Enchufe.tv (72 episodes), which satirizes everyday situations in an entertaining and hilarious way, parodying family parties, mother-son relationships, funny situations, conversations between friends, and other topics.

The humor offering also includes Novocomedy’s more than 4,000 hours of non-verbal shorts, including hidden cameras, home videos, children and animals in funny situations, magic acts, and extreme sports bloopers.

It will also bring to Miami its wide catalog of films, series, documentaries, and novels, both companies they represent and from sister companies such as Hasta Que te Conocí, Súbete a mi Moto and Gina Yei, the most recent.

The company’s delegation attending Content Americas includes Luis Villanueva, president, and CEO of SOMOS Group; Francisco Villanueva, VP and COO of SOMOS Distribution, and Mariana Villanueva, Sales director of the company, among other executives.
