Telemundo continues to dominate Spanish-language television at 10pm with the premiere of Preso No. 1, which delivered 633K adults 18-49 and 1.3M total viewers on its premiere night, according to Nielsen.
Fueled by the Preso No. 1 premiere, Telemundo solidified its position as the leading Spanish-language network in prime-time television, among adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and total viewers.
Locally, the premiere episode ranked as the #1 program regardless of language in the hour among adults 18-49, in top Hispanic markets, including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston and Dallas.
Starring Erik Hayser, the political-drama centers around Carmelo Alvarado (Hayser) a man of humble origins and firm values who, thanks to his charisma and intelligence, ends up becoming the president of Mexico. Carmelo is falsely accused of a millionaire fraud that leads to his incarceration, causing a media frenzy and an uproar in the country. However, Carmelo will not go down without fighting back against the corrupt system behind this scheme and clearing his name for the sake of his country and his family.
A Telemundo Global Studios production, Preso No. 1 was co-developed with Keshet International. The series was written by Luis Felipe Ybarra, directed by Pitipol Ybarra, Javier Patron Fox and Javier Solas, with Marcos Santana, Mariana Iskandarani and Marcel Ferrer as executive producers for Telemundo with Dror Mishani and Shira Hadad, Avi Nir, Karni Ziv and Kelly Wright as executive producers for Keshet International.
