Telemundo kicks-off Hispanic Heritage Month campaign

Telemundo kicks-off Hispanic Heritage Month with the launch of Nuestras Voces Cuentan (Our Voices Matter), a multiplatform celebratory campaign under the banner of its award-winning corporate social responsibility initiative, El Poder En Ti (The Power in You).

The month-long initiative will recognize and highlight the culture, spirit, triumphs, and extraordinary contributions of the more than 60 million Latinos living in the U.S. at a time when their presence and influence are increasingly shaping the economic, cultural, and political future of America.

Nuestras Voces Cuentan showcases a set of original paintings by talented Hispanic artists residing in Houston, Los Angeles, and the greater New York/tri-state area. In line with health and safety protocols during the pandemic, each 6-foot long canvas was painted in the respective artist’s studio and will be put on display at Telemundo Center —the Network’s state-of-the-art global headquarters in Miami, Florida.

In addition, Telemundo will be donating US$10,000 each to three non-profit organizations located in each of the artists’ cities.

The campaign will include a series of custom on-air public service announcements featuring the selected artists, with voice-overs from prominent journalists from the Network including Felicidad Aveleyra, Julio Vaqueiro, and Vanessa Hauc. It will also feature weekly in-show segments across network shows and daily digital and social content highlighting the many contributions of Hispanics in the U.S.

Telemundo will also launch From Me to Me, a brand new, original weekly franchise on Latinx Now!

Additionally, Peacock will premiere its first original Latino short-form documentary series True Colors. The series tells the stories of Hispanic trailblazers and thought leaders in various fields, including Alex Rodríguez, John Leguizamo, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mario López, Ellen Ochoa, Laurie Hernández, Lele Pons, and Ángela Aguilar. Presented in English, and developed in partnership with Telemundo, True Colors allows all audiences the opportunity to experience the reality and celebrate the richness and beauty of Hispanic culture. The streaming service will also premiere snackable versions of iconic Telemundo series El Chema, El Cuerpo del Deseo, La Doña, and more.
