Telemundo announced the production kick-off of the third season of its award-winning hit super series El Señor de los Cielos, starring Rafael Amaya. The show marks the first time in the networks history that Telemundo produces a third season of an original series. The mega production frequently ranked number one in its time slot.El Señor de los Cielos illustrates the innovative concept of Telemundos super series scripted stories driven by innovative storytelling and high production values, placing Telemundo at the forefront of Spanish language television in the United States.The season two finale of El Señor de los Cielos ranked number one in Spanish-language television, and number one regardless of language in Los Angeles and Miami among Adults 18-49. Season two was also Telemundos most successful series on digital platforms, reaching three million users online and on mobile devices as well as generating 52 million page views and 21 million video views.Season three of this series brings new innovations and characters to complement the successful plotline, creating an explosive combination of action, romance and suspense. The star-studded cast includes familiar faces from seasons one and two as well as new talent. Led by Rafael Amaya as Aurelio Casillas, the series features Mauricio Ochmann, Carmen Villalobos, Fernanda Castillo, Carmen Aub, Lisa Owen, Sabrina Seara, Gala Montes and Sergio Mur.
