From Madrid, that has already completed all the phases of de-escalation with control of all contagions. Alexis Cárdenas, VP International Sales at The Kitchen, reviews on #PRODUprimetime with Richard Izarra what the last months have been like since the irruption of COVID-19.

“We haven’t stopped selling. During the first month, the whole world was requesting dubbing and subtitles. It seemed as if it was the end of the world. Then there was a pause when people started reflecting and making necessary adjustments because the pandemic continued to be there”.

The Kitchen maintains 11 of their 12 studios operative, with strict protocols. Brazil continues closed, and Russia is operating with restrictions, but the incorporation of remote recordings has allowed them to continue with the workflow. “We are adding two weeks to the production in order to be able to comply with clients”.

As a seller, he highlights that the pandemic gave an opportunity to catalog content that was not moving because the market was too saturated with new content. In the light of the paralyzation of shootings, this type of production began filling channels´ programming hours.

At a personal level, the pause also allowed him to share with his two small children, one a 7-year-old and the other, 4, whom she had to leave at home many times due to work trips.
