Unidad Latina presents first Lifetime Achievement Award to Carlos Barba

As the country celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, so does BuenaVisión TV’s president and CEO Carlos Barba who received the Unidad Latina Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to the establishment and growth of Hispanic television in the United States. Barba is the first person to have received this prestigious award.The announcement comes recently after Barba launched a Spanish-language TV network, kicking off with a unique and local offering for Latinos in the New York Tri-State area. The network offers an array of shows from partner channels in the Caribbean and Latin America as well as shows that will be produced and distributed locally, an innovative blend for the New York Hispanic TV industry.Unidad Latina is a two-day conference designed to help increase economic opportunities for the growing Hispanic community in New York. Industry and community leaders had interactive discussions focused on how to continue helping and inspiring the Latino community. The 2012 conference was held on September 28 and 29 at the Hilton New York in Manhattan. The event is co-organized by the New York State Senate lead by Senator Dean G. Skelos and the Hispanic Federation who also awarded student grants to Latin students.“Being selected to receive the first Unidad Latina Lifetime Achievement Award was an unexpected delight.
