Univisión’s current plan is to expand distribution of the newly added cable channels from TuTV (Telehit, Bandamax, De Película, De Película Clásico and Ritmoson Latino), which currently stands at 2.3 million homes.“We want to exploit many synergies. We know many people don’t know these channels. Now that they belong to the Univisión family, we want to introduce them to the audiences of TeleFutura, Galavisión and Univisión. There will be a lot of cross-promotion. Currently with Premios Juventud, we are planning to mention the channel Telehit during the event,” said to PRODU Jessica Rodríguez, senior VP of Univision Cable Networks.Rodríguez says that since the TuTv channels have had limited distribution, there is much room for growth. “I believe there is an opportunity to create the demand and to arouse people’s appetite for these channels by using digital platforms,” she added.Part of the plans includes taking some of the shows that have aired on Telehit or Bandamax and featuring them on {Univision.com} and on VOD for people to get to know the channels’ personalities and boost interest in their content.“We maintain a close relationship with Televisa Networks These cable channels have performed well in Mexico, and Televisa Networks plays an integral role in the success of the channels in the U.S. I work with Bruce Boren’s team to continue fostering their growth in the U.S.,” she added.
