Univision launches its new documentary unit Documentales Univision

Univision announced the upcoming U.S. premiere of Infiltrados (Infiltrated), a documentary produced by Documentales Univision, Univision News’ new documentary unit. Infiltrados takes an in-depth look at the FARC - one of the world's deadliest terrorist organizations, which is accountable for 60 percent of the cocaine that comes into the United States. The documentary debuting on the Univision Network on Wednesday, September 21 at 9:57pm will be broadcasted with English and Spanish subtitles via closed captions. “The launch of our new unit, Documentales Univision, reaffirms our commitment to the world-class offerings we have in store for our dedicated and growing community. The riveting story presented in Infiltrados is a testament to how deep we dig and far we go to tell critical, and sometimes dangerous, stories,” said Isaac Lee, president of News, Univision Communications. “It is an honor to be part of an award-winning news team as it expands its coverage to include long-form documentaries,” said Juan Rendón, director of Documentales Univision, Univision News Written and directed by Rendón, Infiltrados examines the Colombian national police and the involvement of its intelligence division DIPOL (Dirección de Inteligencia de la Policía Nacional) in the recent lethal strikes against the FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia). With first-time accounts from the spies who joined the ranks of the FARC, Infiltrados is an exhilarating account of how Colombia has headed off the violence and terrorism that has plagued the nation for over 45 years. The film is narrated by award-winning Univision News co-anchors María Elena Salinas (in English) and Jorge Ramos (in Spanish), with contributions from Univision’s award-winning foreign correspondent Karl Penhaul.
