Univision: Our programming corresponds to what the audience wants

The strategy aimed at multiple generations and at uniting the family around their programming on the 8pm slot has brought results to Univision and they will continue on that path, explained Lourdes Díaz, president of Entertainment at Univision.

“It is what we have seen in the studios and it corresponds to what the audience wants. Univision is the family network, we will continue with this strategy and programming that reaches the heart. At 8pm, programs for the whole family, then, at 9pm for adults and at 10pm, more striking programming. We are winners at 7, 8, and 9pm, which means the audience is telling us the truth and what we are doing is resulting favorably," assured Díaz.

Regarding their relation with Televisa, she explained that they are increasingly more united and aligned in their development -an example of this is Vino el Amor- and that in their programming they will reflect the topics that are important for the Hispanic audience in the US. Additionally, he expressed that they were very satisfied with the results of La Piloto, from W Studios, led by Patricio Wills, at 10pm.

Díaz highlighted the role that social networks have on the work they have been developing and that they will use the support of these platforms to show details related to their new competition reality program, La Reina de la Canción, that is looking for the new star of Mexican regional music. He assured they will have more important announcements in their upfront in May.
