Univision promotes Daniel Coronell to president of News

Univision News announced the promotion of Daniel Coronell to president of News. He will continue to be based in Miami and report to Isaac Lee, Chief News and Digital Officer for UCI, and CEO of Fusion. “Daniel is an exceptional editorial talent whose drive and instincts have elevated Univision’s newsroom to new levels of excellence. He has been instrumental in driving innovation and the digital expansion of our news offering over the last five years. I am confident that with his intimate understanding of our audiences we are best positioned to continue to inform and empower our audiences with best in class news offerings on all platforms,” said Lee. Coronell first joined the Univision News team in early 2011 as VP and News director; in 2012 he was named SVP and executive News director, and in 2014 to his most recent position as EVP and executive director of News. Under Coronell leadership, Univision News has been recognized with some of the most prestigious awards for excellence in journalism, including the duPont Award, the Peabody Award, the Walter Cronkite Award, the Gracie Award, the IRE Award and two King of Spain International Journalism Awards, among others.
